The National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) provides an exciting opportunity to investors. The Australian Government has combined with the State and Territory Governments to offer incentives to investors to build properties which will be rented out at least 20% below the market rent value.
The Government provides approximately $10,000 per year in tax free incentives to owners of approved properties for a period of 10 years. An owner of a NRAS approved property also receives the rental income (less expenses) and any capital growth associated with the property.
